Regular Season Round 22: Novipiu Casale - Orlandina CdO 88-73

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Novipiu Casale (14-8) won against at home 13th ranked Orlandina CdO (6-16) 88-73 on Wednesday. They outrebounded Orlandina CdO 45-29 including a 36-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Novipiu Casale looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Orlandina CdO was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward DeShawn Sims (203-88, college: Michigan) had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and Davide Denegri (183-98, agency: Two Points) chipped in 13 points and 10 assists during the contest. Five Novipiu Casale players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Jon Elmore (190-95, college: Marshall) responded with 17 points and 8 assists and Marco Lagana (197-93) scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Despite that victory Novipiu Casale went down to third position (A2) due to points difference. Loser Orlandina CdO keeps the thirteenth place with 16 games lost. Novipiu Casale will face Basket Scafati (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Orlandina CdO will play against Blu Basket TVG in Treviglio and hope to win that game.
