Regular Season Round 22: Shahrdari Q. - Raad 72-61

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Qazvin where 12th ranked Raad (5-20) was defeated by thirteenth ranked Shahrdari Q. (5-19) 72-61 on Thursday. Vahid Eslami (197) scored 15 points to lead the charge for the winners and Mohammad Heidari chipped in 11 points during the contest. Five Shahrdari Q. players scored in double figures. Shahrdari Q.'s coach Omid Hamidi used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Saleh Moradian responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and the former international center Ebrahim Beigi (211-94) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Shahrdari Q. moved-up to twelfth place. Raad lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth position with 20 games lost. Shahrdari Q. will meet higher ranked Zob Ahan (#9) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Raad's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tehran Mahram.
