Regular Season Round 19: Denain - Poitiers 80-66

Very predictable result when tenth ranked Denain Voltaire (10-9) won against at home bottom-ranked Poitiers (2-17) 80-66. Denain Voltaire dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Poitiers' 18. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Vincentian center Shawn King (208-82, college: ORU, agency: Pensack Sports) fired a double-double by scoring 10 points, 18 rebounds and 5 blocks for the winners. Jamaican Tyran De-Lattibeaudiere (201-91, college: Lamar) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. Five Denain Voltaire players scored in double figures. Bathiste Tchouaffe (196-98) produced 17 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) and the former international point guard Abdoulaye MBaye (189-88) added 18 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Denain Voltaire moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Nantes and Rouen. Poitiers at the other side stay at the bottom position with 17 games lost. Denain Voltaire's next round opponent will be Gries/Oberhoffen (#13) in Bischwiller which should be theoretically an easy game. Poitiers will play at home against Lille Metropole (#7) and hope to win that game.
