Fourth-ranked Trail Blazers (24-29) made lots of trouble for second ranked Jazz (32-19) in Salt Lake City. Jazz managed to secure only three-point victory 117-114. However their fans expected easier game. Jazz outrebounded Trail Blazers 56-43 including 43 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Croatian Bojan Bogdanovic (203-89) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points. French center Rudy Gobert (216-92) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Jazz's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Point guard Damian Lillard (190-90, college: Weber St.) answered with 42 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 6 assists and guard CJ McCollum (193-91, college: Lehigh) added 27 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Trail Blazers. Five Jazz and four Trail Blazers players scored in double figures. Jazz maintains second place with 32-19 record having six points less than leader Toronto R. Trail Blazers at the other side keep the fourth position with 29 games lost.
