Regular Season Round 20: FSU - Snaefell 96-77
Date: February 7, 2020
No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked FSU (6-10) crushed bottom-ranked Snaefell (2-15) in Selfoss 96-77 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by FSU. Snaefell managed to win third quarter 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Snaefell's 32. FSU looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The winners were led by American forward Christian Cunningham (201-97, college: Jacksonville St.) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 25 points, 23 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 blocks and Arnor Eythorsson (194) supported him with 27 points. Even 23 points and 4 steals by point guard Aron Hinriksson (183-0) did not help to save the game for Snaefell. Swedish Gabriel Adersteg (201-95, college: Bethesda) added 11 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the guests. Four Snaefell players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. FSU maintains sixth position with 6-10 record. Snaefell lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 15 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
