Regular Season Round 19: Xiria - Culle 66-84

Everything went according to plan when seventh ranked Culle (8-8) defeated 9th ranked Xiria (5-11) in Carballo 84-66 on Saturday. Culle had a 28-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a very good performance for British-Canadian guard Glen Yang (193, college: Mount Royal) who helped to win the game recording 34 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Center Mario Cabanas (207-85) contributed with 8 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Senegalese center Alioune Senghor (200-96) answered with 15 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Manuel Rey (185-88) added 18 points in the effort for Xiria. Xiria's coach Fernando Buendia let to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Culle maintains seventh place in Group A-B with 8-8 record. Newly promoted Xiria dropped to the eleventh position with 11 games lost. Culle will face league's leader Carbajosa at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Xiria will play against Zamora (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
