Regular Season Round 21: Navarra - Zamorano 77-92

Not a big story in a game in Pamplona where 7th ranked Navarra (9-12) was defeated by fifth ranked Zamorano (12-9) 92-77 on Saturday. Zamorano shot 60.3 percent from the field. The best player for the winners was American guard Bryce Canda (193-95, college: Portland St.) who scored 22 points. Slovenian guard Ziga Samar (193-1) chipped in 11 points and 8 assists. Canda is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Zamorano players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was center Eduardo Hernandez-Sonseca (212-83) who recorded 25 points and 8 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and guard Inaki Narros (196-81) added 18 points respectively. Navarra's coach Xabier Jimenez rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Zamorano maintains fifth place in Silver with 12-9 record. Loser Navarra dropped to the tenth position with 12 games lost. Zamorano will face Moron (#7) in Morón de la Frontera in the next round. Navarra will play on the road against the league's second-placed Estela in Santander and hope to win that game.
