Regular Season Round 21: Polonia Bytom - Pogon RS 103-94

There was an upset when higher ranked Pogon RS (11-8) lost on the road to eleventh ranked Polonia Bytom (6-13) 103-94 on Saturday. Polonia Bytom looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Pogon RS was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for Lukasz Lewinski (186-99) who led his team to a victory with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Point guard Adam Baczynski (182-90) contributed with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Center Wojciech Zurawski (202-76) answered with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 21 rebounds and point guard Marcin Duda (183-93) added 23 points in the effort for Pogon RS. Four Polonia Bytom and five Pogon RS players scored in double figures. Polonia Bytom moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Ogniwo Szcz. Loser Pogon RS dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost. Polonia Bytom will face league's leader Wisla Krakow on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Pogon RS will play against Jaworzno (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
