Regular Season Round 24: Avignon/Pontet - Mulhouse 83-69

Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Mulhouse (11-13) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Avignon/Pontet (15-9) 83-69 on Saturday. Avignon/Pontet forced 20 Mulhouse turnovers. The best player for the winners was Steeve Borval (201-87) who scored 23 points. Point guard Geoffrey Bourcier (182-88) chipped in 19 points. Avignon/Pontet's coach Francois Sence used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Canadian forward Guillaume Boucard (198-90, college: Carleton) who recorded 13 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Quentin Diehl (186-91) added 15 points and 4 assists respectively. Five Mulhouse players scored in double figures. Avignon/Pontet have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place in Group B. Mulhouse at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the ninth position with 13 games lost. Avignon/Pontet will face La Charite (#6) on the road in the next round. Mulhouse will play against Kaysersberg and hope to win that game.
