Very important is a road loss of third ranked DKV San Fernando (10-5) against fifth ranked Torta del Casar (8-7) on Saturday night. Visiting DKV San Fernando was defeated by Torta del Casar in Caceres 80-69. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of DKV San Fernando. It was an exceptional evening for Bourama Doumbia who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds. Forward Juan Santos (196-2) accounted for 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Four Torta del Casar players scored in double figures. Jose Ruiz (200-97) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Eugenio Martinez (182-1) added 15 points respectively for DKV San Fernando in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Torta del Casar maintains fifth place in Group D-B with 8-7 record. Loser DKV San Fernando keeps the third position with five games lost. Torta del Casar will meet Adepla (#7) in the next round. DKV San Fernando will play against the league's leader ULB OH!TELS (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
