This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of second-ranked Gran Canaria (12-4) to third ranked Ardoi (13-4) 68-65 in the game for the second place. Argentinian center Diana Cabrera (184-93) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and the former international forward Amaya Gastaminza (189-91, college: Oregon St.) chipped in 10 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Mali power forward Sika Kone (190-2) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 22 rebounds and American guard Sparkle Taylor (178-95, college: UTEP) scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Ardoi moved-up to second place in Group B. Gran Canaria at the other side dropped to the third position with four games lost. Ardoi are looking forward to face Granada (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gran Canaria will play against Picken Claret (#11) and is hoping to win this game.
