Regular Season Round 14: Honka - Lahti 93-63

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Honka (8-5) crushed 7th ranked Lahti (5-8) in Espoo 93-63. It looked good early as Lahti took a 3-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Honka had a 31-16 second period charge getting the lead and Lahti was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 63-93. Honka dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Lahti's 40. They outrebounded Lahti 44-33 including 16 on the offensive glass. Honka players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Guard Markus Hyytiainen (190-2) scored 21 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and center Veeti Helakorpi (206-2) chipped in 16 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Five Honka players scored in double figures. Forward Eemi Luukkonen (200-2) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds and forward Anton Halttunen (192-1) scored 14 points. Honka have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with HNMKY. Lahti at the other side keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. Honka's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Espoo to the arena OBA.
