Regular Season Round 14: Westside - Sykki 72-79

Rather expected game when 10th ranked Westside (1-12) lost to eighth ranked Sykki (4-9) in Espoo 72-79. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Westside won third quarter 26-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Sykki made 21-of-27 charity shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Forward Kalle Koponen (190-2) had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Cristian Ahokas (202-1) chipped in 22 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four Sykki players scored in double figures. Guard Tatu Lehtisyrja (199-2) responded with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Teo Niinimaki (198-1) scored 18 points. Sykki maintains eighth position with 4-9 record. Westside lost seventh consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 12 games lost. Sykki will play against higher ranked Lahti (#7) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Westside will play against Kataja in Joensuu to get more than just one victory in their record.
