The game between closely ranked teams ended with top-ranked Giants' (13-0) road victory over their biggest opponent High Flyers (9-4) 125-104 on Saturday. They outrebounded High Flyers 54-43 including 17 on the offensive glass. Giants looked well-organized offensively handing out 38 assists comparing to just 22 passes made by High Flyers' players. High Flyers were plagued by 39 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international power forward Eugene Bain (195-88, college: Bellevue) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. The former international guard DShon Taylor (196-93, college: Norfolk St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists. Shantoin Pratt produced 22 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals and Devontae Gibson added 27 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. High Flyers' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Giants have an impressive 13-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 13-0 record. Newly promoted High Flyers keep the second place with four games lost. Giants' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Nassau Wolverines.
