Very predictable result when eleventh ranked Corona Platina (9-12) smashed on the road 16th ranked Soresina Gilbertina (4-17) 109-88 on Saturday. Corona Platina dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Soresina Gilbertina's 36. It was a great shooting night for Corona Platina especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. Swingman Edoardo Giovara (200-93) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners and American guard Thomas Tinsley (191-96) chipped in 25 points. The best for the losing side was guard Davide Toffali (196-98) with 31 points and 7 rebounds and naturalized San Marino power forward Igor Biordi (204-96) scored 9 points and 5 rebounds. Five Corona Platina and four Soresina Gilbertina players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Corona Platina moved-up to tenth place in B, which they share with Juvi Cremona. Soresina Gilbertina lost their sixth game in a row. Soresina Gilbertina at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fifteenth position with 17 games lost. Corona Platina will face Olginate (#12) at home in the next round. Soresina Gilbertina will play against the league's second-placed San Vendemiano where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
