Everything went according to plan when first ranked Palestrina (19-2) beat on the road 11th ranked Pozzuoli V. (8-12) 83-74 on Saturday. Strangely Pozzuoli V. outrebounded Palestrina 49-35 including a 40-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. Pozzuoli V. was plagued by 33 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Gianmarco Rossi (182-90) stepped up and scored 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and forward Mattia Mastroianni (203-94) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four Palestrina players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was point guard Nicola Savoldelli (184-97, agency: Agency) with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and power forward Fatih Mehmedoviq (203-0) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks. Palestrina maintains first place in B with 19-2 record, which they share with Bernareggio. Loser Pozzuoli V. keeps the eleventh position with 12 games lost. Palestrina's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Roma Roma Luiss.
