Cairns Taipans did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 99-80 on Saturday. American forward Cameron Oliver (203-96, college: Nevada) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and Brazilian-American guard Scott Machado (186-90, college: Iona) chipped in 12 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Cairns Taipans players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international power forward Daniel Johnson (212-88, college: Pepperdine) with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and Ukrainian-American point guard Jerome Randle (175-87, college: California) scored 9 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Cairns Taipans have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 16-10 record having four points less than leader Kings. Loser Adelaide 36ers keep the seventh position with 15 games lost.
