There was a minor upset in Valdivia where their close opponent Puente Alto (21-11) was outplayed by first ranked Las Animas (24-8) 91-68 on Sunday. Las Animas forced 21 Puente Alto turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Ricky Harris (187-87, college: UMass) who scored 32 points. His fellow American import forward Kristian Clarkson (202-84, college: Widener) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Argentinian forward Nicholas Wadell (201-89) who recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and American forward Corbin Jackson (198-92, college: Florida Tech) added 10 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Las Animas. They maintain first place with 24-8 record which they share with defeated Puente Alto. Loser Puente Alto still keeps top position with 11 games lost.
