Regular Season Round 19: Guadalajara - Rivas 61-73

There was no surprise when 12th ranked CB Guadalajara (7-12) lost at home to second ranked Rivas (15-4) 73-61 on Sunday. It was a very good performance for American center Julien Sargent (211-91, college: Mobile, AL) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Eduardo Gomez (194-93) contributed with 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Five Rivas players scored in double figures. Rivas' coach Juanjo Simon allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Center Sergio Martinez (208-92) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds and forward Raul Lazaro (195-87) added 7 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for CB Guadalajara. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Rivas. They maintain second place in Group B with 15-4 record having just one point less than leader Alcobendas. Loser CB Guadalajara keeps the twelfth position with 12 games lost. Rivas will face Lanzarote (#15) in Arrecife in the next round which should be an easy win for them. CB Guadalajara will play on the road against the league's leader Alcobendas and hope to win that game.
