Regular Season Round 36: Kagoshima - Tokyo CR 95-93

A very interesting game took place in Renova. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 10th ranked Tokyo CR (13-24) to eighth ranked Kagoshima (16-19) 95-93 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Tokyo CR. Kagoshima shot the lights out from three nailing 16 long-distance shots on high 51.6 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. American players dominated the game. The best player for the winners was forward Shelton Boykin (198-92, college: Angelo St.) who scored 28 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Chris Washburn (203-93, college: TCU) chipped in 18 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Kagoshima's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Michael Craig (196-91, college: S.Mississippi) who recorded a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 7 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and center Joshua Crawford (211-88, college: Indiana St.) added 19 points and 12 rebounds respectively. Four Tokyo CR players scored in double figures. Kagoshima moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Saitama B. Tokyo CR at the other side keeps the tenth position with 24 games lost. Kagoshima's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Kanazawa (#12) in Ishikawa where they are favorite. Tokyo CR will play at home against the league's leader Toyoda Gosei where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
