Regular Season Round 41: Shinshu BW - Yamagata 78-52

B2 League top team - Shinshu BW (32-7) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Yamagata (8-33) in Nagano 78-52. Shinshu BW forced 19 Yamagata turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Yamagata's players. Guard Tatsuya Nishiyama (171-88) stepped up and scored 15 points and 4 assists for the winners and American center Wayne Marshall (211-86, college: Temple) chipped in 13 points and 4 assists. Four Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. American forward Chris Olivier (202-92, college: Oklahoma St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 18 rebounds and Yasuhiko Wada (181-90) scored 14 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Shinshu BW. They maintain first place with 32-7 record. Yamagata lost their tenth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with 33 games lost. Shinshu BW will face league's second-placed Nishinomiya S. in Hyogo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Yamagata will play at home against the league's leader Dragonflies (#1) and hope to win that game.
