Regular Season Round 17: HyPo - Ura Basket II 90-84

No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked HyPo (7-10) beat 9th ranked Ura Basket II (4-12) in Hyvinkaa 90-84 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 90-84. HyPo made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Strangely Ura Basket II outrebounded HyPo 49-35 including 35 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American guard Martez Harris (191-92, college: Ave Maria) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Power forward Toni Honka (193-84) contributed with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Worth to mention Harris played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Four HyPo players scored in double figures. American power forward Brian Moultrie (198-87, college: Armstr.Atlantic) answered with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 24 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Roope Kyyhkynen (185-99) added 18 points and 6 assists in the effort for Ura Basket II. HyPo maintains seventh place in Division with 7-10 record. Loser Ura Basket II dropped to the tenth position with 12 games lost. HyPo will face Namika Lr (#9) in Lappeenranta in the next round. Ura Basket II will play at home against PuHu Juniorit and hope to win that game.
