The game in Rustavi was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Vera (7-5) played at the court of 6th ranked Rustavi (5-6). Vera defeated Rustavi 80-70 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 10 points. Vera looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American point guard Brandon Sly (178-96, college: Adams St.) stepped up and scored 28 points and 4 assists for the winners and his fellow American import guard Mike Hughes (191-96, college: Georgia South) chipped in 9 points and 17 rebounds. Four Vera players scored in double figures. At the losing side Serbian power forward Nikola Tadic (206-88) responded with 12 points and 7 rebounds and international power forward Ilia Londaridze (205-89) scored 9 points and 7 rebounds. Rustavi's coach Anatoli Boisa tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Vera moved-up to third place, which they share with Olimpi. Loser Rustavi dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. They share it with BC Titebi. Vera will meet BC Titebi (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Rustavi will play against Cactus Tbilisi and hope to secure a win.
