Regular Season Round 17: Mataro Parc - Genero 60-62

Date: February 9, 2020
There was a small surprise when fourteenth ranked Genero (3-14) edged on the road 11th ranked Mataro Parc (5-12) 62-60 on Sunday. Naturalized Paraguayan guard Claudia Aponte (175-91) stepped up and scored 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and Canadian-Polish guard Jessica Duleba (173-91, college: Baruch) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds. Four Genero players scored in double figures. German guard Alina Hartmann (183-95, college: Colorado, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) responded with 17 points and center Marta Arbizu (187-91) scored 10 points and 9 rebounds. Mataro Parc's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Genero maintains fourteenth place in Group B with 3-14 record. Loser Mataro Parc keeps the eleventh position with 12 games lost. Genero will face higher ranked Lima-Horta (#6) in Barcelona in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
