Regular Season Round 17: JyWe - Huima 76-105

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 6th ranked JyWe's (8-9) home loss to fifth ranked Huima (10-6) in Jyvaskyla 76-105 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Huima. JyWe was better in second period 24-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to JyWe's 34. JyWe was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American power forward Trenton Clayton (206-96, college: Pittsburg St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 31 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field). Guard Markus Santa (188-91) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Five Huima players scored in double figures. Guard Kosti Naukkarinen (186-83) answered with 18 points and center Aleksi Liukko (211-99) added 9 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for JyWe. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Huima maintains fifth place in Division with 10-6 record. Loser JyWe keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. Huima will face Pyrinto Ak.B (#12) in Tampere in the next round and are hoping to win another game. JyWe will play on the road against Westside ET (#11) in Espoo and hope to win that game.
