Regular Season Round 36: Gifu Swoops - Kanazawa 80-86

Bottom-ranked Kanazawa managed to get a sixth victory, breaking the six-game losing streak. This time they won against eleventh-ranked Gifu Swoops 86-80. Kanazawa players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Andre Murray (188-87, college: Portland St.) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and point guard Daichi Tomioka (165-95) who added 16 points and 10 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward AJ John (202-96, college: UC Davis) with 20 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import center Joe Wolfinger (214-85, college: Citadel) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Kanazawa and five Gifu Swoops players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Kanazawa maintains twelfth position with 6-30 record. Gifu Swoops at the other side keep the eleventh place with 27 games lost. Kanazawa will play against higher ranked Kagoshima (#7) in Renova in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Gifu Swoops will play on the road against Aisin AW (#3) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
