Regular Season Round 21: Delteco GBC - Marin 94-66

The game between second ranked Gipuzkoa (16-5) and 18th ranked Marin (3-18) in San Sebastian ended with biggest points difference. Gipuzkoa outscored guests from Marin 94-66. Gipuzkoa dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Marin's 32. They outrebounded Marin 37-24 including a 31-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Gipuzkoa players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. The best player for the winners was Latvian center Davis Rozitis (215-90, college: Hawaii) who scored 16 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). Guard Xavi Oroz (192-96) chipped in 6 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Rozitis is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Gipuzkoa's coach Inaki Martin felt very confident that he used entire bench saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was British-Irish forward Taiwo Badmus (203-93, college: Virginia-Wise) who recorded 17 points and 8 rebounds and French point guard Sango Niang (183-93, college: Simon Fraser) added 16 points respectively. Four Marin players scored in double figures. Gipuzkoa maintains second place with 16-5 record behind leader Valladolid. Newly promoted Marin stay at the bottom position with 18 games lost. Gipuzkoa's next round opponent will be Real Canoe (#17) in Madrid which should be another easy win for them. Marin will play at home against Magia Huesca and hope to win that game.
