Second Stage Round 3: Victoria - Gorizont 52-77

The game in Grodno supposed to be also quite interesting. Gorizont (1-0) played at the court of Victoria (0-3). Gorizont smashed Victoria 77-52 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Gorizont. Victoria managed to win second period 15-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 23-of-26 free shots (88.5 percent) during the game, while Victoria only scored five points from the stripe. Gorizont forced 25 Victoria turnovers. It was a great evening for international guard Volha Ziuzkova (171-83) who led her team to a victory scoring 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. American forward Bree Alford (183-96, college: Loyola Mary) helped adding 9 points and 12 rebounds. The best for the losing side was forward Irina Kravchenko (182-1) with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and forward Elizaveta Shyshliuk (178-5) scored 13 points. Victoria's coach Elena Skrobko gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Gorizont will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Victoria will play again against Gorizont (#2) in Minsk and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
