Regular Season Round 23: Zob Ahan - Shahrdari Q. 74-71

Twelfth-ranked Shahrdari Q. (5-20) was very close to win a game against ninth ranked Zob Ahan (10-15) in Esfahan on Monday. Zob Ahan managed to secure only three-point victory 74-71. However their fans expected easier game. Strangely Shahrdari Q. outrebounded Zob Ahan 49-36 including a 22-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for the former international forward Sajjad Pazrofteh (188-96) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Serbian center Nemanja Besovic (221-92, agency: Interperformances) accounted for 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Four Zob Ahan players scored in double figures. Amir Taherkhani came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and power forward Yaghoub Shaloushi (207-88) added 9 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks respectively for Shahrdari Q. in the defeat. Shahrdari Q.'s coach Omid Hamidi tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Zob Ahan maintains ninth place with 10-15 record. Newly promoted Shahrdari Q. keeps the twelfth position with 20 games lost.
