Regular Season Round 20: Quimper - Nancy 75-69

The game between Top Four teams took place in Quimper. Second ranked host Quimper UJAP (15-5) defeated one of their biggest challengers Sluc Nancy (14-6) 75-69. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Sluc Nancy. Quimper UJAP made 24-of-28 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game, while Sluc Nancy only scored eight points from the stripe. Quimper UJAP looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Sluc Nancy helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Nigerian forward Chima Moneke (190-95, college: UC Davis) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 9 rebounds and Central African power forward Jimmy Djimrabaye (202-92) who added 12 points during the contest. Four Quimper UJAP players scored in double figures. American-Cuban swingman Yunio Barrueta (193-93, college: Barry, agency: Inception Sports) responded with 15 points and 6 rebounds and Meredis Houmounou (188-88) scored 9 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Quimper UJAP maintains second position with 15-5 record behind leader Blois. Sluc Nancy at the other side keeps the third place with six games lost. Quimper UJAP are looking forward to face SPO Rouen (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Sluc Nancy will play against Poitiers (#18) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
