Regular Season Round 7: Academy 2 - Wings 65-98

Bottom-ranked Academy 2 (0-6) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 98-65 loss to seventh ranked Wings (4-3) in Tbilisi on Tuesday evening. The game without a history. Wings led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Academy 2's 36. Wings forced 22 Academy 2 turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Academy 2's players. Guard Nikoloz Bobokhidze (186-2) fired a triple-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds, 12 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Forward Giorgi Lebanidze (186-2) chipped in 26 points and 6 rebounds. Five Wings players scored in double figures. Guard Saba Uchava (160-3) produced 18 points and Ivane Babunashvili added 14 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Academy 2's coach Vasil Somkhishvili gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Wings moved-up to fifth place. Academy 2 lost their sixth game in a row. They still close the standings with six games lost. Wings' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena Martve.
