Regular Season Round 21: HyPo - Kouvot 60-88

Very expected game when 10th ranked HyPo (2-19) was smashed by second ranked Kouvottaret (17-4) in Hyvinkaa 88-60 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Kouvottaret. HyPo managed to win second period 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kouvottaret looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. American swingman Camille Zimmerman (184-95, college: Columbia) nailed a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side and her fellow American import guard Ameryst Alston (175-93, college: Ohio St.) accounted for 28 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Coach Mika Hartonen's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Serbian power forward Kristina Baltic (188-90) came up with 16 points and 7 rebounds and power forward Titta-Riina Lepisto (182-90) added 19 points respectively for HyPo in the defeat. Four HyPo players scored in double figures. Kouvottaret maintains second place with 17-4 record behind leader PeKa. HyPo lost their fifth game in a row. They stay dead last with 19 lost games. Kouvottaret will meet at home Forssan Alku (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. HyPo will play against Catz Lappeenranta (#5) and hope to secure a win.
