Regular Season Round 112: Cleveland C. - Atlanta H. 127-105

There was a minor upset when their close opponent Hawks (15-41) were outscored by fifth ranked Cavaliers (14-40) in Cleveland 127-105 on Wednesday. Cavaliers dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Hawks' 46 and made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Hawks 55-38 including 17 on the offensive glass. Cavaliers looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Hawks were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for Canadian forward Tristan Thompson (206-91, college: Texas) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Larry Nance-Jr (203-93, college: Wyoming) contributed with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Guard Trae Young (188-98, college: Oklahoma) replied with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 assists and U.S. Virgin Islands-American John Collins (208-97, college: Wake Forest) added 23 points in the effort for Hawks. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Cavaliers maintains fifth position with 14-40 record which they share with defeated Hawks. Loser Hawks keep the fifth place with 41 games lost.
