Very expected game when 8th ranked Kouvot (13-18) was defeated on the road by third ranked Kauhajoki (24-9) 94-86. The game without a history. Kauhajoki led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Kouvot's 34. The game was dominated by American players. It was a good game for forward Samuel Givens (198-89, college: Drexel) who led his team to a victory with 21 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Cameron Jones (193-89, college: NAU) contributed with 19 points and 5 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Jones is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Forward Derrick Barden-Jr (196-92, college: N.Colorado) answered with 25 points and 7 rebounds and guard Avery Woodson (188-93, college: Butler) added 22 points in the effort for Kouvot. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Kauhajoki have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains third place with 24-9 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Seagulls. Kouvot at the other side keeps the eighth position with 18 games lost. Kauhajoki will play against Kataja (#6) in Joensuu in the next round. Kouvot will play at home against BC Nokia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
