Serie A1 top team - Schio (16-2) added another victory to their record. This time they beat seventh ranked Vigarano (8-10) 78-70. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Vigarano. They outrebounded Vigarano 38-27 including 24 on the defensive glass. Spanish guard Leonor Rodriguez-Manso (180-91, college: FSU) scored 22 points to lead the charge for the winners and New Zealand-British Jillian Harmon (186-87, college: Stanford, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Schio players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was naturalized American point guard Beatrice Attura (170-94, college: Northwestern St., agency: LBM Management) with 14 points and forward Maria Miccoli (182-95) scored 16 points and 4 steals. Vigarano's coach Marco Castaldi rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending champion maintains first position with 16-2 record. Vigarano at the other side keeps the seventh place with ten games lost. They share the position with Broni and Empoli. Schio will play against bottom-ranked Battipaglia (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Vigarano will play against Palermo (#10) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
