Regular Season Round 15: KW Titans - St.John's E. 95-108

The game between Top Four teams took place in Kitchener. 4th placed host Titans (4-12) lost to second ranked St.John's E. (8-5) 108-95. St.John's E. made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. St.John's E. outrebounded Titans 63-47 including a 51-34 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. The best player for the winners was Indonesian swingman Montay Brandon (203-93, college: FSU) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 17 rebounds. American forward Karrington Ward (201-93, college: EMU, agency: Players Group) chipped in 22 points and 8 rebounds. Brandon is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Ed Horton (186-85, college: Murray St.) who recorded 21 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists and Jamaican-Canadian forward Nigel Johnson-Tyghter (204-86, college: Windsor) added 15 points and 12 rebounds respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for St.John's E.. They maintain second place with 8-5 record having 4 victories less than leader Moncton M. Loser Titans keep the fourth position with 12 games lost. St.John's E. will meet league's second-placed Sudbury F. in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Titans will play again against the league's second-placed St.John's E. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
