Regular Season Round 21: Parnu - Rapla 87-64

An interesting game where host Parnu (#8) rolled over 5th ranked Rapla with 23-point difference 87-64 on Saturday evening. Parnu outrebounded Rapla 43-29 including a 37-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Latvian center Lauris Blaus (206-90) stepped up and scored 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Latvian forward Linards Jaunzems (201-95) chipped in 20 points and 10 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Parnu's coach Heiko Rannula felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American forward Montae Glenn (203-97, college: Georgia South) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import guard Devaugntah Williams (193-94, college: Texas Tech) scored 17 points. The victory was the third consecutive win for Parnu. They moved-up to seventh place. Rapla lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the sixth position with 11 games lost. Parnu will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Rapla will play against Ventspils (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
