Very important is a road loss of third ranked Cairns Taipans (16-12) against sixth ranked Bullets (15-13) on Saturday night. Visiting Cairns Taipans were crushed by Bullets in Brisbane 124-88. Bullets forced 27 Cairns Taipans turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists. International guard Nathan Sobey (190-90, college: Wyoming) scored 30 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American forward EJ Singler (198-90, college: Oregon) chipped in 21 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Four Bullets players scored in double figures. At the losing side South Sudanese forward Majok Deng (208-93, college: ULM) responded with 20 points and 7 rebounds and forward Fabijan Krslovic (203-95, college: Montana) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Bullets moved-up to fourth place, which they share with United and Breakers. Cairns Taipans at the other side keep the third position with 12 games lost.
