Regular Season Round 20: Novaschool - CAM E.Soler 80-81

Second-ranked Novaschool (12-5) gave a tough game to first ranked CAM E.Soler (17-1) in Malaga. The visitors from Melilla managed to secure only one-point victory 81-80. However their fans expected easier game. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Novaschool. CAM E.Soler shot 22 for 33 from the free-throw line, while Novaschool only scored three points from the stripe. Novaschool was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by center Javier Gonzalez (207-92) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and Belgian forward Alhassan Barrie (196-95, college: Goshen) supported him with 16 points and 7 rebounds. CAM E.Soler's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 26 points and 5 rebounds by forward Pablo Villarejo (195-92) did not help to save the game for Novaschool. Center Chema Del-Rio (203-91) added 14 points and 10 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the hosts. Four CAM E.Soler and five Novaschool players scored in double figures. CAM E.Soler have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group D-A with 17-1 record. Novaschool at the other side keeps the second place with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
