Regular Season Round 38: Kawasaki BT - Shimane SM 85-76

No shocking result in a game when first ranked Toshiba Thunders (29-9) beat 6th ranked Shimane Magic (11-27) in Kanagawa 85-76 on Saturday. Toshiba Thunders looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. International power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international point guard Yuma Fujii (178-91) contributed with 18 points, 8 assists and 7 steals for the winners. American forward Robert Carter (206-94, college: Maryland) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds and his fellow American import center Brian Qvale (208-88, college: Montana) added 22 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Shimane Magic. Four Shimane Magic players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Toshiba Thunders maintains first position with 29-9 record, which they share with Alvark T. Newly promoted Shimane Magic keeps the sixth place with 27 games lost. Toshiba Thunders will face again Shimane Magic (#6) at home in the next round where they are favorite.
