Regular Season Round 20: La Antigua - Betanzos 77-59

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 9th ranked Betanzos' (6-11) road loss to eighth ranked La Antigua (8-9) 59-77 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Abe Massaley (180, college: Shippensburg) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and Serbian center Miroslav Jaksic (211-95, college: Oklah.Christian) who added 12 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Center Marcos Rozas (202-83) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and Bosnian forward Simun Kovac (203-96, college: Concord) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds. Four Betanzos players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. La Antigua moved-up to seventh place in Group A-B, which they share with Culle. Loser Betanzos keeps the ninth position with 11 games lost. La Antigua will face higher ranked PBB (#4) in Porrino in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Betanzos will play at home against Univ.Valladolid (#12) and hope to win that game.
