Regular Season Round 42: Ibaraki R. - FE Nagoya 87-84

A very interesting game took place in Mito. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of their close opponent FE Nagoya (21-21) to third ranked Ibaraki R. (24-18) 87-84 in the fight for the third place. Ibaraki R. players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American power forward Alex Jones (206-87, college: Seattle) notched 20 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Daisuke Kobayashi (188-87) supported him with 19 points. Even a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds by American forward Josh Hawkinson (208-95, college: WSU, agency: Wasserman) did not help to save the game for FE Nagoya. American-Nigerian center Chris Otule (211-90, college: Marquette, agency: Octagon Europe) added 16 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Ibaraki R. maintains third position with 24-18 record having eight points less than leader Shinshu BW which they share with defeated FE Nagoya. FE Nagoya at the other side keeps the third place with 21 games lost. Ibaraki R.'s next round opponent will be again FE Nagoya (#3) at home, which may be the game of the day.
