Regular Season Round 42: Kumamoto V. - Tokyo EX 81-83

A very close game took place in Kumamoto between Tokyo EX and Kumamoto V.. Fourth ranked Tokyo EX (18-22) got a very close victory on the road over 5th ranked Kumamoto V. (16-26). Tokyo EX managed to escape with a 2-point win 83-81 in the game for the fourth place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kumamoto V.. Tokyo EX looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The game was dominated by American players. Center Ryan Stephan (208-94, college: Colorado Mesa) had a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Jordan Faison (201-94, college: Cal Poly Pomona) chipped in 31 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists during the contest. Tokyo EX's coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was power forward Gavin Ware (206-93, college: Mississippi St.) with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds and forward Marqus Blakely (201-88, college: Vermont) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. Tokyo EX have an impressive five-game winning streak. Newly promoted Tokyo EX maintains fourth position with 18-22 record. Kumamoto V. at the other side keeps the fifth place with 26 games lost. Tokyo EX will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kumamoto V. will play again against Tokyo EX (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
