Regular Season Round 18: Pozuelo - Iraurgi 60-62

Bottom-ranked Pozuelo (0-19) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 62-60 loss to ninth ranked Iraurgi (7-11) in Pozuelo on Saturday evening. Strangely Pozuelo outrebounded Iraurgi 42-29 including 17 on the offensive glass. American center Jaisa Nunn (190-97, college: N.Mexico) had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Canadian swingman Jessica Fequiere (180-93, college: Albany) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Rapuluchi Ayodele with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and guard Paloma Gonzalez (170-99, college: Minnesota) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Pozuelo's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Iraurgi maintains ninth position in Group A with 7-11 record. Newly promoted Pozuelo still closes the standings with 19 games lost. Iraurgi will meet at home Arxil Pontevedra (#11) in the next round. Pozuelo will play against Barakaldo in Vizcaya and hopes to get finally their first victory.
