Very expected game when 8th ranked Almeria (8-10) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Unicaja (12-6) 66-58 on Saturday. Unicaja dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Almeria's 30. The best player for the winners was Senegalese center Bineta NDoye (196-93) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Power forward Veronica Matoso (185-88) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Argentinian power forward Ornella Santana (183-90) who recorded 17 points and Slovenian Tina Cvijanovic (180-98) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Unicaja have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Unicaja maintains fourth position in Group B with 12-6 record. Loser Almeria keeps the eighth place with ten games lost. Unicaja will face UCAM Jairis (#9) in Alcantarilla in the next round where they are favorite. Almeria will play on the road against Granada and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
