There was no surprise when 6th ranked Tokyo Z (9-33) was defeated at home by first ranked Sendai 89ers (32-10) 58-48 on Saturday. Sendai 89ers outrebounded Tokyo Z 55-27 including a 20-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American center Daniel Miller (211-91, college: Georgia Tech) who scored 9 points and 23 rebounds. The other American import Eric Jacobsen (208-94, college: ASU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 17 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Ishmael Lane (203-97, college: Northwestern St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and Nigerian-American center Nnanna Egwu (211-92, college: Illinois) added 2 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Tokyo Z's coach let to play twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Sendai 89ers have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 32-10 record. Tokyo Z lost thirteenth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 33 games lost. Sendai 89ers will have a break next round.
