Regular Season Round 31: Koping Stars - Sodertalje 74-71

Fourth-ranked Sodertalje Kings (16-10) were very close to win a game against third ranked Koping Stars (21-8) on Saturday. Koping Stars managed to secure only three-point victory 74-71. However their fans expected easier game. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Sodertalje Kings won fourth quarter 22-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Jeremy Combs (201-95, college: Texas Southern) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 8 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Gary Blackston (188-96, college: PVAMU, agency: Two Points) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Koping Stars players scored in double figures. The former international point guard Jonathan Person (190-93, agency: Interperformances) answered with 19 points and American forward Deshawn Freeman (201-94, college: Rutgers) added 14 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Sodertalje Kings. Koping Stars maintains third place with 21-8 record having just one point less than leader Boras. Defending champion Sodertalje Kings keep the fourth position with ten games lost. Koping Stars are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Djurgarden (#10) in Stockholm in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sodertalje Kings will play at home against Umea (#9) and are hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
