Regular Season Round 33: Lahti - Kauhajoki 60-99

Date: February 15, 2020
Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Lahti (12-21) was outplayed at home by third ranked Kauhajoki (24-9) 99-60. The game without a history. Kauhajoki led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Kauhajoki forced 22 Lahti turnovers and outrebounded them 44-32 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for American power forward Skylar Spencer (206-94, college: San Diego St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks. The former international forward Okko Jarvi (193-96, agency: Blacktop Management) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Four Kauhajoki players scored in double figures. American forward Taylor Johns (201-94, college: UC Riverside, agency: Slash Sports) answered with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import guard Devante Wallace (196-92, college: High Point) added 12 points in the effort for Lahti. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Kauhajoki. Defending champion maintains third place with 24-9 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Seagulls. Newly promoted Lahti keeps the ninth position with 21 games lost. Kauhajoki will play against Kataja (#6) in Joensuu in the next round. Lahti will have a break next round.
