Regular Season Round 22: Algeciras - Ponferrada CDP 82-60

There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Algeciras (11-11) outplayed at home one of their biggest challengers Ponferrada CDP (12-10) 82-60 on Saturday. They outrebounded Ponferrada CDP 38-22 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Algeciras looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Ponferrada CDP's players. Quite impressive performance for American forward Andrew Kelly (201-91, college: Alaska-Fairb.) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 9 rebounds. Senegalese center Serigne Barro (208-95) contributed with 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American forward Sean McDonnell (203, college: Westmont) replied with 26 points and 9 rebounds and guard Andrew Ramirez (188-97, college: Hartford) added 4 points and 6 assists in the effort for Ponferrada CDP. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Algeciras moved-up to sixth place in Silver. Ponferrada CDP at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fifth position with ten games lost.
