Regular Season Round 23: Pinheiros - Corinthians 81-78

The most exciting game of round 23 in the NBB took place in Sao Paulo. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 8th ranked Corinthians (11-11) to sixth ranked Pinheiros (13-9) 81-78 on Saturday evening. It was a great evening for American guard Cordero Bennett (188-88) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points. The former international forward Marcus-Vinicius Toledo (201-86) helped adding 7 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international point guard Ricardo Fischer (185-91) responded with 22 points and 8 assists and American-Peruvian guard Kyle Fuller (185-92, college: Vanderbilt) scored 17 points. Corinthians' coach Bruno Savignani rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Pinheiros maintains sixth place with 13-9 record. Corinthians at the other side keeps the eighth position with 11 games lost. Pinheiros are looking forward to face Botafogo F.R. (#9) in Rio de Janeiro in the next round.
